Op. the same day another junk, sailing off Man Shan, was deprived by a Japanese warship of a cargo of wood oil split bamboo and incense powder, valued at

Hongkong dollars 92,600.

On the 12th May, 1941, a junk sailing five miles south of Sam Mun Kwan was stopped and searched by Japanese destroyer No. 25. Money to the value of dollars 530 in Chinese national currency was seized and taken on board the œstroyer.

On the 19th May, 1941, a junk sailing five miles south of Nan Shen was fired on by Japanese trawler No. 11, one man being killed and one wounded. The junk was damaged by the trawler when going alongside and eventually sank after about a third of the general cargo, valued

at Hongkong dollars 3,000, had been transferred to the

trawler.
